Every August we hold the popular Start a Collection sale in our Cork Street gallery. Established in 2003, the event has now become an annual highlight of the art world calendar; for three days only, over 150 works of art are exhibited and offered for sale at significantly reduced prices. Works of art can be reserved ahead of time, but priority is given to buyers in the gallery for the first hour of the opening day. As a result, London's premier contemporary art street sees queues forming outside Messum's on the opening morning of the sale, as first-time buyers and seasoned collectors gather in the early hours from all over the country.
